Aiyana Camille “AJ” Mikiewicz, our Miss Tourism World Philippines 2013 declared last May 17, 2013 at AFP Theater, Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City. She will represent The Philippines in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, West Africa on October 12, 2013 and will be staying at The Grand Four Wings Hotel.
Miss Tourism World should not be confused with Miss World Philippines, Miss International to be represented by Binibining Pilipinas International Bea Santiago, and Miss Tourism International which is being held every 31st of December in Malaysia wherein the current title holder is Philippines’ Miss Rizzini Alexis Gomez.
“…it all boils down to how well the candidate prepares herself not just phys.but emotionally & mentally as well. Dpat confident npo cya that she can do good because if she has made it already in being a candidate for a natl.pageant then it means judges will see she has potential. Potential in representing our country if ever internationally.”
I did have a chat conversation with Aiyana even before going to nationals. What I am so glad is that she has not change a bit. Knowing she is wearing a national crown, she is wearing it right. She has not change her ways. She still manages to give a reply to her Facebook messages though she receives hundreds. La Union for sure is honored to have her and in fact, the whole Northern Luzon and some. Here is the final pageant question and the winning answer:
What do you wish to have..Money or Fame?
“If I were to choose, I would rather have money, because I believe with money, it will get me somewhere in life, whether to reach my goals, being realistic and practical in our generation nowadays, and I think with tourism, I think that’s what the things, we could do to promote our country as one, is having money in order to help others, and when they are in need.”
Aiyana was a recipient too of these sponsorship awards during the Miss Tourism World: Miss Lady Grace, Miss Light Skin, Miss Glowing Skin, and Miss Sundance.

Aiyana as national pageant title holder
Maraming salamat po! Just let me know lng po Sir if there’s anything i could do to help u po as towards ur website, would be glad to lend a helping hand. God bless po always!
She has not change a bit! The Northern Luzon must be proud that she was raised and has joined pageants here as her stepping stones before going to nationals – and now international.
Her Thoughts Before Binibining Pilipinas & Miss Tourism World
It’s been a while since I started to ask some beauty queens and some long time pageant enthusiasts to write something they would like to share about how to win a pageant. I even message our Binibining Pilipinas and some of the other candidates.
What I have noticed is that they are all busy in all directions. But I hope they will give an ample time to influence and inspire others too which is one of their recognized responsibility; not only to citizens but also especially to budding beauty pageant candidates.
Luckily, I received a message of confirmation right a way to a beauty queen named Aiyana Camille “AJ” Mikiewicz, Miss Magic 2012 and now Miss Tourism World 2013.
How did you get to know about joining beauty pageants?
The first pageant I joined was actually just for fun because my beautician, Paul Sanglay who eventually became my handler and whom I met through a friend who asked me if I would be interested.
At that time I thought to myself, “Why not?” not a lot of girls of my age could experience what it’s like joining pageants. After my first win, my handler spoke to my mom and, I, being asked if I want to go further with this because he saw that I have potential. From that day on I’ve been active in joining other pageants.
What are the things that you do before joining a beauty pageant?
Things I usually do before joining a beauty pageant: getting my full eight hours of sleep every night, drinking lots of water instead of soft drinks or juice which has lots of sugar, sticking to my diet (consists of fruits, vegetables, and fish), taking vitamins, going to the gym on a regular basis, and most importantly praying to God after getting up every morning and before going to sleep. Giving thanks to Him for making me become a part of the current pageant I am in.
What are the things that you do during pageant activities?
During pageant activities: maintaining my diet, drinking lots of water, if I’m not able to go to the gym, I’ll be doing a few stretches in the morning and before rehearsals, doing a couple of abdominal workouts, wearing lots of sunblock especially if I know that our activity for the day will be taken outdoors, and last, thanking God once again for all that He has done to make this pageant possible.
What are the things that you consider while onstage and offstage?
Things you have to know while onstage, offstage, backstage: No matter what, I am always maintaining my poise, smile, attention. Not only to the organizers of the pageant/staff, co candidates, but also to those who are watching even during rehearsals.
How does it feel like after a pageant especially if you have won the crown?
Usually it takes about a day or two that it dawns on me that I’ve actually won a pageant. It happens all so fast. I still think it’s a dream not until I start receiving text messages from all my friends and get greetings on Facebook my friends saying Congratulations!
I feel very blessed & thankful every time I win. If it wasn’t for God guiding me through all the pageants I’ve joined I wouldn’t be where I’m at today with all my accomplishments.
What would be your pageant tips for potential beauty pageant candidates and beauty queens?
Advice to fellow girls who want to join pageants or are currently in one: No matter what win or lose always give thanks to God; always remember to keep your feet on the ground (being humble); it’s not about wearing the crown on top of your head but wearing it over your heart. Most of all enjoy the experience & have fun.
Do you have a plan going to a national pageant?
My plan of joining Binibining Pilipinas is this November for the next batch of Binibining Pilipinas 2013. Hopefully all goes well & if it’s in God’s will I will carry the honor and privilege of representing the Province of La Union: an Ilokana going for the crown.
So, this is it, let me give you a little background about Aiyana courtesy of AJ’s colleague:

and the last time that I got to talk to her, she confirmed that she do have plans to join the Bb. PIlipinas 2013 and her supporters have high hopes for her.
Talking to people around her are quite admirable of her congeniality and good social skills that you could attribute to her mom’s good rearing since she got a friendly and supportive mother too; lucky lady.
What sets her apart from other beaucons, (beauty pageant contestants or contenders) is the fact that she always clinched the title and goes home with a crown, thus the high hopes that out of the other Ilocana beauty queens, one will bring home a crown on Bb. Pilipinas 2013 is being prayed for by the people who believes in her beauty, wit and abilities.

Miss Magic 2012 winning Answer
Here is her winning pageant answer during the Miss Magic 2012, April 27, 2012 at Dagupan City, Pangasinan, Philippines. Sponsored by Magic Group of Companies, directed by Dr. and Creative Director Eugene M. Reyes, choreographed by Alfred Cruz, hosted by Mr. Tim Yap, and graced by no other than Miss World 2011 First- runner-up Gwendoline Ruais. Here is the common pageant question the judges asked for the rest of the top 5 finalists:
Do you consider yourself to be a giver or a taker? Why?
“I would definitely consider myself as a giver because I know what is it like to have nothing. We shouldn’t expect anything in return. We should be an epitome in giving like God, who gave us His only begotten son that whosoever believeth in Him shall not parish but have everlasting life.”
With that answer, she made the the judges nod and give her the crown.
This website would like also to share the spotlight to Mr. Paul Sanglay who is Aiyana’s Make-Up Artist, and Mr. Airwind Bautista as her publicist. Congratulations!
